StormR Jackets - Defy the Elements
– Defy the Elements The Typhoon is the first jacket in a series available from the Stormr brand of outerwear. The Typhoon is lined with a soft, comfortable micro-fleece material which traps warm air between your body and the shell, just as a wetsuit traps warm water between the suit and your body. This trapped air keeps your body warm in the harshest of elements, even though the exterior shell is thin and extremely flexible. One significant feature that sets this jacket apart from traditional outerwear is its inherent buoyancy. Although not for use as USCG certified PFD, an XL typhoon jacket provides nearly 5 lbs of positive buoyancy, enough to float a fully clothed man with his head above water. All seams on the Typhoon are glued, stitched and then coated with an exterior liquid tape, just like wetsuits for surfing and diving. The construction, although significantly more complicated and expensive than construction techniques employed on common outerwear, ensures the Typhoon remains waterproof and windproof even in high winds, driving rain and freezing precipitation. · The Zipper on the STORMR is also waterproof and is covered with an exterior storm flap to ensure waterproof integrity. The non-corrosive metal zipper slider ensures years of use in the most brutal conditions. · Interior zippered pockets are spacious for keeping personal items safe and secure. · The attached hood is easily adjusted for a perfect fit and can be worn over other hats or head gear, alone or not at all. · Wrists are adjustable for use over gloves and layering. · Zippered outer front pockets are perfect for keeping hands warm on chilly days, or storing personal items securely. The STORMR provides a full, relaxed fit with plenty of room for layering, allowing you to perfectly achieve your thermal balance.
