Product Description

High Pressure Spool O-Rings -Buna (6 to a pack)     These are those little bastards that are right below the gauge.  Many times people think it is the hose that is bad and in actuality it is usually these orings. The spool takes two of them and they are easy to loose.   John’s Quick Tips: Gauge Disassembly: This is an easy job that any diver can handle.   First things first if you have a gauge boot or console boot that does not have any screws holding it together you should soak the gauge in hot water.  The hot water will make the gauge boot more pliable and it will pop off easy as can be instead of you spending an hour wrestling it.   Next if the gauge is brass you just have to put a “metric fit em all” (adjustable wrench) on the hose side and take the hose off.  If the gauge is plastic you will need to use a wrench on the small hexhead of the gauge and the fit em all on the hose.  If you do not do this with a plastic gauge you will rip the guys out of the gauge.  This of course is better for me but bad for you!   The spool will be stuck in either the hose or gauge.  Pull it out and wipe the oring grease off it.  Now take the orings off it.  If there is heavy corrosion or pitting throw the damn thing away and buy a new spool.    If the spool is ok put the new orings on the spools this is horrendous job sometimes. Make sure when the orings are on that you put a good amount of grease on both orings.  This is one of those spots where more grease is better.  The reason for more grease is that salt can not get to the spool if it is covered with grease.
