"upline" is a spool that the diver carries on
the side or the back of their tanks for emergency decompression
use.

Stainless Steel Nylon Upline
Part#085 002 $99.99
The Emergency Upline Reel is used for rigging an ascent
line where an ordinary line reel would be inadequate.
Rot-resistant reusable 1/8" nylon line allows a safe
tethered ascent from any depth in even the strongest currents.
This reel differs from a typical "Jersey" reel
in that it is carried for emergency use rather than every
day use. The low-profile design allows it to be bungied
unobtrusively between double tanks, or alongside a single.
A necessary piece of equipment for any deep diver. 15"
x 3.5" holds 400' of 1/8" nylon line.

Sisal Upline Part#848
$59.99
When divers get disoriented on the bottom and cannot find
their way back to the dive boat's anchor it can be a real
problem. For years Divers in New Jersey have utilized this
simple Up Line Reel. the reel holds 250' of a strong 5/16"
hemp line (not included). Divers carry the reel on their
tanks with bungies and when needed simply send up the loose
end with a small lift bag while letting line out. One the
lift bag hits the surface the diver ties the up line to
the wreck, cuts off the reel and ascends up his own newly
created mooring line. Safety decompression stops are made
easy and since the hemp is biodegradable it deteriorates
quickly. Our Jersey Up Line Reel is mage of lightweight
aluminum.
