Assistant Instructor
The first step in teaching others to scuba dive is the Assistant
Instructor Course. Here you will learn to prepare lectures and briefings,
demonstrate skills in the pool to instructor quality and learn to
handle groups. You will also become proficient in giving underwater
guided tours to students learning to dive and watch in excitement
as they see their first fish; eye-to-eye!
As an Assistant Instructor you will become an
important member of the professional diving community and a role
model to all you work with. The basic duty of an Assistant Instructor
is to help classroom and water training activities flow smoothly
by facilitating the Instructor’s tasks and helping the students.
Good AI’s are an instructor’s extra eyes and ears, enhancing
safety by helping maintain control and observing student development.
DiveMaster
Do you have strong leadership skills and organizational skills?
Then you could lead certified divers on daring dive adventures as
a NAUI DiveMaster! During the DiveMaster course you will be challenged
and your skills put to the test as you learn to safely conduct diving
activities.
Northeast Scuba Supply will guide you in learning
to conduct dive briefings, equipment checks and escorting. Your
rescue skills will be refreshed as we prepare you to prevent and
handle emergencies.
Instructor Preparatory
Program
This program includes both instruction and evaluation. Enrollees
receive the information needed to prepare for NAUI Instructor Training.
They are given knowledge, waterskills and other performance evaluations,
critiques and counseling to ensure that they are aware of their
state of preparedness for entering NAUI Instructor training.
This is an excellent opportunity for those who
are not NAUI Assistant Instructors or DiveMasters to prepare for
the NAUI ITC. It is also outstanding program for leadership from
other agencies to prepare for the rigors of a NAUI ITC.
Instructor Training
Course (ITC)
Join the elite of the Scuba Diving Professionals and become a NAUI
Scuba Instructor. Upon successful completion of this demanding course
you will be certified to teach the core scuba courses including
(but not limited to) Advanced Diver, CPR & First Aid and O2
Provider. You will also be qualified to teach Leadership levels
courses such as Assistant Instructor!
Northeast Scuba Supply has a full time NAUI
Course Director on staff and offers several programs each year.
Besides the regularly scheduled ITC’s a flex schedule can
be created to meet your limited timetable.
